Origin
Bubblegum Dancer was launched in late November 2006, at the free Web domain: bubblegumdancer.ifastnet.com. The idea for the site struck me when I was surfing the Web for sites on dance acts in the same style as Aqua. Quite frankly, the lack of results surprised me, and so I decided to create my own Web site on the subject, and called the project "Bubblegum Dancer".
The site has done nothing but grow since it opened. In 2008 the Web site saw a massive revamp where I completely redesigned and rebuilt the whole site. "BGD 2.0", as it was nicknamed, saw a completely new site design, new sections, and lots more information! All of the artist pages were rebuilt from scratch, adding much more information and a more structured, easy-to-navigate system.
About Mitch
Hello Bubblegum eurodance fans! My name is Mitch, I'm 20 years old, and live in Auckland, New Zealand. I have always had an interest in pop music and grew up listening to the Spice Girls, ABBA, Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks... I guess that sort of music just grew on me lol. My all time favourite dance music is bubblegum dance (of course! :)) and the larger genre, eurodance. I also really enjoy classical music, and show tunes.
My favourite bubblegum dance artist is CRISPY, closely followed by Blue Monster and Toy-Box - though I really do love all of the traditional acts so much! I especially like Crispy because their music is just so fun and cleverly produced. The singers and songwriters were really passionate about what they were doing, and I think that shows in their music.
Apart from bubblegum dance I'm also a huge fan of eurodance music. Some of my favourite artists include Solid Base, E-Type, Da Buzz, E-Rotic, Ace Of Base, and DJ Bobo. I also love bubblegum pop music, which is similar to bubblegum dance - just without the eurodance) and 80s and 90s dance/pop. :-)
I'm a proud supporter of Mac Computers, and created Bubblegum Dancer using my iMac G5. For those of you interested in the technical side of things, I made the Web site using Dreamweaver MX 2004 in HTML (that's right, everypage is designed from scratch), the graphics were all created using Abode Photoshop CS. :-)
I think that's about everything - if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me via the form above, or through the Forums. My username is "admin" ;-)
About the Site
Bubblegum Dancer was designed as a free information Encyclopedia of euro bubblegum dance music, a style of eurodance that was made famous by AQUA in the late 1990s. The site is free for everyone to use as an information source.
All graphics are copyrighted their respective owners. Song previews are under 45 seconds long and are used as a promotional tool for that artist.
