VOLUME 2 of our brand new series UNWRAPPED!
We know how difficult it can be to find new music, and for artists to promote their music. Unwrapped! lets you download a free rare bubblegum dance song each week, and if you like the song you can go buy it!
To download, click on this button then click “Visit Link.”
This week:
D-ZIRE – DIPPY DO
D-Zire’s very rare 1999 single “Dippy Do” is a refreshing, traditional bubblegum song with cute (and quite strange) lyrics. The production is great and I really love the girl’s unique vocals.
FUN-TC – YUPPIE AH YEAH
I’ve posted this song numerous times, only because I absolutely LOVE it! One of the best traditional styled bubblegum tracks in my opinion. Top notch production, catchy, and fun – this is feel good bubblegum at its best!
GUDRUN – WorldWideWebGirl
This is the original version of “www.Girl” that was made famous by Toy-Box. Gudrun’s version is very different, and is slower than Toy-Box’s remake who sped it up and changed the arrangement. This version is more poppy, with more lyrics (some of them quite bizzare such as the email address). While I like Toy-Box’s version much more, this is still a good song.
THE COMPTON BOYS – ACTION MAN
Easily one of the BEST “Barbie Girl” parodies I have heard in a long time, The Compton Boys “Action Man” makes clever use of the Barbie Girl instrumental, remaking it into an original song. The vocals are excellent, and the lyrics are hilarious – this should not be missed!
CODE RED – BANG BANG
For me, Code Red’s 2009 single “Bang Bang” is a true representation of what bubblegum dance should sound like today. The energy in this song is phenomenal, and I love their unique style. This is an excellent song and a very good project so be sure to support them!

Bubblegum Dancer would like to introduce a brand new series: UNWRAPPED!
We know how hard it can be to find bubblegum dance music, as people tend to label it all sorts of genres – pop/dance, trance, techno, house, pop. As a result, we are constantly finding new artists, and many artists are not discovered for a very long time.
We have decided that each week, we will post a collection of RARE BUBBLEGUM SONGS for you to download and preview. If you like the songs, then you can go buy them!
So, let’s get started with VOLUME ONE!
UNWRAPPED: VOLUME 1
Lagoona Del Ibiza – Funny Funny
This is an excellent bubblegum dance cover of a popular song by “The Sweet.”
Jules – Ready Steady Go This song was a mystery to me and my researchers for a long time. It appeared in the background of the English series “Queer As Folk.” The song was written by Julie Anne Tulley and Bill Baylis.
MDM – Euroland (Maxi Mix) Here is an extremely rare release that I found a long while ago. Unfortunately, this is the only mix I have and I haven’t been able to find the single. It’s a very good song though, extra cheesy!

Rick, a very good friend of mine and one of Bubblegum Dancer’s top researchers, is currently in the process of compiling every single Bubblegum dance song he has and sorting it by Country of Origin and Year of Release.
His purpose? To determine exactly how many Bubblegum dance songs he has, which year was the busiest for Bubblegum dance releases, and which country holds the most Bubblegum dance releases.
He has started a stimulating thread at the Bubblegum Dancer Forums where he posts a chart each day summarizing his findings. Please click here to visit the thread and view this fascinating data.
Above is the latest information. Rick is only half way through compiling the artists and their music. The final results could be very interesting indeed, so stay tuned!

OSCILLATOR X revealed brand new costumes at their Seattle concert this weekend.
Fans were amazed when Kyle Ward and John Mendenhall appeared on the stage in bright blue costumes that resembled something out of Star Wars.
“Well, we were really going for futuristic and sci-fi type stuff,” says Mr Ward when asked to comment about the new look. “The spandex actually is really comfy.”
With a brighter and tighter new look, Oscillator X are experiencing a lot of success in their home country America. We wish them best of luck for their future and hope they pump out more great tunes – AND interesting outfits!

Bubblegum Dancer’s Review:
(By Mitch Andrews)
The release of Vengaboys’ new song “Rocket To Uranus” was hugely hyped, particularly by the members of the group on Myspace and Twitter. With promises including it is one of the best Vengaboys tracks yet, and incredibly bubblegum-inspired costumes to match, I expected “Rocket To Uranus” to be the ultimate comeback song.
Their costumes are outrageous, far more cheesy than anything else they had ever done, so I immediately assumed they would be returning to their bubblegum roots with a “Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!” or “We Like To Party” styled track. “Rocket To Uranus” has an unusual flavour that, although it is not very similar to those earlier songs, leaves a delicious taste in my mouth that leaves me craving more. It is bubbling with energy and electricity, and the vocals have never been better.
I was disappointed by the lack of sexual innuendos in this song. With a name like “Rocket To Uranus” I thought this would be absolutely riddled with cheeky messages about anal sex, and become a gay cult classic. However, the song is surprisingly clean, which may have been because Vengaboys wanted to keep it child friendly. I personally think this was a mistake. They should have upped the game and made it as suggestive as they could. Not only would this have been incredibly scandalous but it may have even been banned in a few countries, giving them the media attention they deserve. A dirtier “Rocket To Uranus” would have been a HUGE hit in the gay scene. Although hopefully the song will still be a big hit, I do think sexual innuendos would have done it massive justice.
Perez Hilton is good in the music video, though he’s not nearly as funny as I was expecting. However, the music video itself is fantastic. Every shot is absolutely perfect, with great special effects, sound effects and graphics. I really enjoyed the cheesy style, especially their new look which is beyond amazing. It seems a lot of music videos are turning 3D lately, and Rocket To Uranus is such a treat!
Overall, I think “Rocket To Uranus” could have been better. The chorus is a bit monotone and lacks the energy of their old music. However, I feel this song was designed for remixing, and I do think it will be a huge club hit. I for one would go berserk if this came on at the clubs hehe! It is a fun song with an even better music video. With new production and enough enthusiasm to power a rocket, I highly recommend that you approach “Rocket To Uranus” with an open mind. Try to separate this from Vengaboys’ older style, as it may make you bias and not appreciate how good this song really is. For future releases, I recommend Vengaboys try to incorporate some of their Boom Boom Boom Boom magic into their new style. That is what they are known for and that is what people will expect.

There is a rumor circulating that bubblegum dance group TOY-BOX, best known for their hit singles “Tarzan & Jane” and “Best Friend,” may be planning on making a comeback.
The report was issued on Toy-Box’s Official Fanpage last month, in which Aneela Mirza, lead vocalist from Toy-Box, revealed that there may be plans for an upcoming release.
“Aneela also revealed, that there will be some upcoming new Toy-Box stuff, she just wasn’t able talk too much about that yet,” says the Website.
In an older interview, when asked if Toy-Box would ever return with new music, Aneela responded with “who knows, never say never, anything’s possible…”
Toy-Box’s similarity to fellow Danish group AQUA has always been extremely obvious. However, the true reason behind their sudden disappearance right after the release of their second album has always been a mystery.
Could Toy-Box be conducting their biggest Aqua-copycat yet, by following suite and returning to the music scene?
