Just off the press! SMiLE.dk Latest News
Yesterday, SMiLE.DK announced some very important changes that are happening this year.
Hanna has decided to leave the Smile project due to changing priorities in her life, and no longer having the time to juggle both Smile and her job at the same time.
“I respect that in every way,” says Veronica Almqvist, long time founding member of Smile.dk. “I think that we will come to see her shine like a star on all of us in a future not too far away!”
While Hanna may be leaving the project, fans should not worry about the progress of their new album. Veronica had already started searching for a new singer.
“Since we had a new album planned, the search for a new SMiLE.dk singer begun,” she says. “But filling the shoes after a talented singer like Hanna is not an easy task for any aspiring candidate.”
Veronica searched far and wide and finally found a replacement for Hanna.
Introducing to fans, Cecilia, the newest member of SMiLE.dk.
“She is eager to get into all that it means to be a “SMiLE”-girl,” says Veronica. “And from now on, gradually you will see more of her on our social community sites.”
Veronica describes the new group’s style and composition as having more contrast than ever before, in both look and sound.
The new album, which will be released very soon, can be described as a complete fresh start for the Smile.dk project.
“The new album that we are recording is an album for the fans, regardless if you are a fan new to the music or an old fan from the beginning of the SMiLE era,” says Veronica.
Smile.dk also announced that they are no longer working with Dicaster Management/Diskowarp Records for the new album, though Diskowarp may be supplying some remixes.
“This to better, being able to get a new fresh sound, and a better perspective on the dynamics of our contrasting voices,” Veronica explains.
Rumour has it that some of the original producers from the Future Girls (2000) album may be returning to work on The Makeup Collection (2010), including a brand new remix of “Future Girls” itself.
“the new producers are intimately familiar with the history and sound of SMiLE,” Veronica says. “The music will hopefully still be easily recognized by all the fans.”
SMiLE.dk’s brand new Web site, smiledkmusic.com , will be opening in a few days – so stay tuned for updates!
