Yumm Yumm
Yumm Yumm was created as a traditional Bubblegum dance project by Nivek Tek in the early 2000s. The group was first manufactored and distributed by Dance Zone Productions, but is now controlled by ISV Entertainment, and in 2007 transformed to a more modern Bubblegum dance style. Yumm Yumm released their first official single "Happy Day" in 2007. Their follow up single "Super Duper Christmas" was released in 2008 but failed to make an impact on the charts.
Various people have been involved in the Yumm Yumm project since it's birth in the early 2000s. To understand the faces of Yumm Yumm and the people behind the project, you will need to read the biography below in more detail.
History of Yumm Yumm
The original Yumm Yumm was a Traditional Bubblegum dance act headed by the characters Sugar B. and Candy Wrapper. The "classic" Yumm Yumm was made up of a collaboration of singers and songwriters all around the world, with a focus in Scandinavia.
A demo LP "Whole Lotta Fun" was created by the group in 2001, but was never officially released. The demo had three songs, "Happy Day", "Ready Freddy", and "Boom Boom Bang Bang", and also featured a music video for Happy Day which was a recorded photoshoot starring Jesselyn Desmond as Sugar B and Bryan. Jesselyn would stay as the face of the traditional Yumm Yumm, and can be identified by her crazy makeup, colourful clothes, and the unique gap in her front teeth.
Bryan left Yumm Yumm shortly after the recording of the video because he was not interesting in performing live. He was replaced by Jesselyn's boyfriend at the time, who took part in some photos, but later left as well on the same basis that he did not want to perform live. The new Candy Wrapper was Wade Twitchell, who appeared with the blue spikey hair in the offficial Yumm Yumm photoshoots, and later went on to do a live show for Yumm Yumm in the USA.
All of the Yumm Yumm vocals were performed by Donna Lori, with the exception of "Ready Freddy" and "Boom Boom Bang Bang" which were recorded by Anna-Clara (Bikki Girl from Blue Monster). The male vocals were performed by Nivek Tek, who also starred as E-Villain in the traditional act. "Ready Freddy" and "Boom Boom Bang Bang" from the original EP were produced by Adam Edelmann who is best known for his work with Blue Monster, and Adam actually returned in 2008 to produce the new single "Super Duper Christmas."
The act failed to take off in 2001, possibly due to bad timing, and as a result the act was abandoned. In 2007, inspired by the slight revival in bubblegum styled music, creator Nivek Tek decided to give the project a complete makeover, introducing a more modern look and sound, that was less tongue-in-cheek, with the hope that they would be taken much more seriously, and gain the success that they did not receive first time around. The first line up in 2007 was Spencer, Sam G and Sydney. In 2008, the faces of Yumm Yumm were changed again, and this time actress and model Annabelle Bourlet and fitness model, actor James Ellis took the limelight.
While the music on Yumm Yumm's demo LP had a Traditional bubblegum dance sound, the new releases of 2007 have a more mature dance sound. As their official Web site describes, it is a mix between bubblegum dance and the harder styled Eurodance/Trance that has been made popular in the USA by dance acts such as Cascada.
Original Biography
The following biography was an official publication used to describe the traditional Yumm Yumm:
Yumm Yumm is a non-stop fun-filled journey into a virtual fantasy land set in a futuristic world of candy and based on simply having fun. Their cartoonish looks and wacky antics play host to a variety of different adventures and scenarios. One example is where our dynamic duo play super heroes to defend the magnificent cyber world in which they live, from the much-feared evil monster E-Villain, who threatens to become the dark ruler of cyberspace. E-Villain programmed a robot designed to destroy Yumm Yumm, but his diabolical plan backfired when it fell under the spell of Yumm Yumm's goodness and love. They reprogrammed him to do good deeds and named him B.E.E.D.I.E. Together with their newfound friend, they stand strong against E-Villain and his evil schemes.
Yumm Yumm's message is: "Don't be afraid to dream, for the power of imagination is the key to making all of your wildest dreams come true". Children of all ages will delight in the magic of Yumm Yumm and sing and dance along to their powerful messages of hope, love and happiness for days to come. If your heart and mind are truly open to it, you may just learn a lesson or two from Yumm Yumm.
Below is information on the original members of Yumm Yumm, lifted directly from their old Web site which is no longer online.
Sugar B.
Sugar B. is sweet and dandy, her hair is made of cotton candy. She's as nice as sugar and spice, not mean like E-Villain who's cold as ice. She's tried and true as everybody knows, where ever she is, Candy Wrapper goes. She's a true blue friend and sweetie pie and she's caught Candy Wrapper's eye!
Candy Wrapper
Candy Wrapper cool and dapper, is a sight to behold, he's so charming, it's alarming though sometimes he can be bold. He's a hero and a super DJ and he always likes to dance and play. He's a true defender of Cyberspace and with Sugar B. they may save the human race!
E-Villain
E-Villain (real name, Nivek Tek) is a dastardly one, he is not happy when YUMM YUMM has fun his evil plan, so I'm told, is to make Cyberspace dark and cold. He cackles and roars with pure delight every time he goes looking for a fight. One day he will rule Cyberland, propose to Sugar B. and take her hand, if she won't marry him, then Yumm Yumm is through, and I hate to think what E-Villain could do!

Changes In Image
As well as a change in sound, the members of Yumm Yumm have gone through a massive change in appearance. Pictured above was their old bubblegum dance image from the early 2000s. Nivek said in an email that the old image was too outdated for 2007, and Yumm Yumm would need a more mature look if they were to be taken seriously by the music industry.
Tommy, aka Bubblegumboy, a Fashion designer from California USA, was the lead designer in charge of Yumm Yumm's new look, and was responsible for the group's look in the videos for Happy Day, which were included on the single release. Tommy was also the first person to create a bubblegum dance dedicated information site, and was a huge help in the creation of Bubblegum Dancer.
