X4
X4 are a South African based spin-off of the Belgian group K3. It consisted of four girls named Phia, Lola, and sisters Elle and Essy.
Shortly after selling K3 to Studio 100, their original founder, Niels Williams, moved to South Africa and decided to form a spin-off group. He recruited four girls to be part of his new project, known as X4, and together they released one album, "Heyah Mama", in 2004. This album was released in two editions, one in Afrikaans and one in English, and consisted entirely of covers of K3 songs from their time with Williams. Shortly after the release of their one album, Williams moved back to Belgium, cutting off his involvement with X4. They were transferred to new management, but never released anything further before quietly disbanding in 2005.
