Onkel Jes
Onkel Jes (real name: Jes Østergaard) is a children's bubblegum dance/pop artist from Denmark. Since 2005, he has produced and released 4 albums of music all aimed at children. His best known song is probably "SMS Sangen", and several of his tracks have appeared on well-known collection CDs, including "Hits For Kids".

Onkel Jes was born and raised in Hobro in North Jutland, and already at the age of 8 he started playing music with schoolmates and friends in various "garage bands". By chance at the age of 13 he was thrown into being a DJ, by the Impresario Calle Nielsen (CB & Ole B. Booking) and turned records, as well as presenting them in English at non-stop with names like Kim Larsen, Bamse's Friends and a host of other Danish and Swedish dance bands.
After a few years as a DJ, Jes at the age of only 16 was offered to go abroad and play as a DJ. He traveled for a number of years around Germany, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Finland, as well as a lot in the sunshine in both Spain and Greece etc. It was in the southern sun that Jes, again by chance, was asked if he could entertain the tourists' children during the day, and he quickly learned to conjure, make balloon animals and sing all the famous children's songs. From here he entertained the children during the day and the adults in the evening.

Onkel Jes is created
In 1992, Jes starts using the artist name Onkel Jes, and the name stuck. It is also here that the children start calling him "Him with the big shoe" as Jes appears in a pair of giant red basketball shoes when doing children's events.
Jes has always loved and been interested in music, and already at the age of 18 he released his first songs. Back then it was on vinyl and cassette tapes and the first releases were called "It's About Sex", "I Can Li", and "For Ambulance Party" etc. In 2005 after a long period of writing he releases his first real children's CD "Onkel Jes 1 - 10 Fede Børnesange "with hits like" SMS Sangen ", "Postmand Per Sangen" and" Vrik Med Numsen", several of which appear on well-known collection CDs, such as "Hits For Kids" etc.
Onkel Jes writes and produces all his own songs, and the style is primarily up-tempo pop and dance, with strong beats, which makes it easy to dance and move to. Perhaps that is why Onkel Jes' music is also used by many gymnastics, kindergartens and dance schools across the country.
