Schnuffel
Schnuffel Bunny is an animated cartoon rabbit created by the German media company Jamba! for the marketing of one of its ring tones. Schnuffel was created in 2007, and the ringtone was made into a song by Sebastian Nussbaum and Andreas Wendorf, in which it was released under the title "Kuschel Song" ("cuddling song").
The single was released in February 2008, and a number of albums and follow-up singles (I have Loved You) have been released since then.
The music of Schnuffel Bunny is released by Sony & BGM Germany. Click here for a full Discography. The concept art for Schnuffel was designed by Daniela Uhlig (click here for Deviant Art page). In Germany the single "Kuschelsong" achieved Platinum status after more than 300,000 copies were sold.

Marketing A Success
The single for Kuschel Song ("cuddling song") was released in February 2008 and the ring tone rabbit made it immediately to the top of the German and European charts. After the song went to the top of the Austrian charts and to number 2 in Switzerland, plans were made to release the song internationally. The song was translated into over 10 languages, including English (Snuggle Song), and a debut album was released internationally.
The maker Sebastian Nussbaum says "We wanted to create not a work of art, but a perfect market strategy." That seems to have succeeded. Sony/BMG hopes that Schnuffel Bunny's "Snuggle Song", which has sat atop the German singles charts for the past six weeks, will enjoy similar success in the states. The label bought the US rights to the song, a post-Chipmunks ditty about a rabbit who wants to snuggle and cuddle.
