Dr. Bombay releases surprise new single, ''Stockholm to Bombay

Wonderful news for bubblegum dance fans today: Swedish artist Dr. Bombay has released a surprise new single, "Stockholm to Bombay" - his first new release in over 10 years.

Jonny Jacobsen, the man behind the Bombay character, has had a long career in the bubblegum dance genre, having created two separate aliases since the 1998 Dr. Bombay album "Rice & Curry." Dr. Bombay has, however, long been the most well-known and beloved character, and Jacobsen has been performing live as Bombay as part of various 90's memorabilia concerts for the last 10 years, including "We Love the 90's" and "Vi elsker 90'erne."

Obviously the success of his performances, and feedback from fans, has inspired Jacobsen to get back into the studio and record a new song for the Dr. Bombay project, and boy are we happy with the result!

The style of "Stockholm to Bombay" is pure traditional bubblegum dance, and sounds like it could have been taken directly from his 1998 album "Rice & Curry." The lyrics, while still rather racist, are so hilariously random and coated in candy, one can't help but smile at the absurdity of it.

We are unsure who is the production team behind the new song, or whether or not Robert Uhlmann has returned to produce it, as information on the digital iTunes file is not available. However, the tune is published by the Swedish label "Frontrunner Records," which appears to be a newcomer.

Be sure to check out "Stockholm to Bombay" and purchase the new song on iTunes. Who knows, maybe if the sales are successful enough Dr. Bombay will release a new album. Imagine... a new Dr. Bombay album, 20 years after his first!
