17 - JamPack - Inspiration (1998)

“Inspiration” is the name of JamPack’s 1998 debut album, and is a project by producers Jam & Delgado. This was Jam & Delgado’s attempt at creating their own bubblegum dance group, at a time when their bubblegum euro sound was making waves on the dance charts in the form of his such as Space Invaders (Hit’n’Hide), Barbie Girl (Aqua) and Superhero (Daze). Sadly, the group didn’t take off as they had hoped, and this album print has become quite rare.

Although a popular and well known bubblegum project today, Ni-Ni was created at a time when bubblegum dance music was on the decline, and as a result her debut album “Mermaid” was released exclusively in Japan. The limited number of copies printed make this album a sought after addition to any bubblegum dance collection.

8 - Drunk Santa - Xmas Party (2007)

Drunk Santa is one of those projects shrouded in mystery, mostly because no one can figure out who Drunk Santa actually is. 6 - Barbie Young - Bubble Dance The Album (2002)

This album release by Barbie Young was apparently released in Russia in 2002 (2002 really is proving to be the year for rare bubblegum dance albums!). With a photo of a random little girl on the cover who we can almost certainly confirm is NOT Barbie Young, this album really is a bizarre release, but nevertheless one of the rarest.

5 - Cherri - Come And Get Your Love (2002)

Cherri’s debut album “Come And Get Your Love” was not actually licensed for release, and some people claim that it is an unreleased album that somehow leaked online. Even it’s producer Anders Nyman wasn’t aware that the album was released (seems to be a common pattern in 2002). Regardless of its origin, we can’t argue the fact that Cherri’s album is one of the rarest in bubblegum dance history.

Chong Lee’s album “Same Same But Different” was released exclusively in Taiwan in 2002, despite producer Anders Nyman saying in a later interview that the album was never actually licensed for release. The only known copy to exist is by a blogger who posted a track-by-track review of the album, and fans have been attempting to piece it together ever since. There’s hope that the album may have been released in limited copies.

1 - Blue Monster & Bikki - Blue Monster (2002)

Coming in at number 1 on our list is the 2002 furry album release by Blue Monster, complete with googley eyes. To this day, we are unsure whether or not this CD was an official print, or if it was created as a one-off promo. Regardless, we are envious of anyone who is lucky enough to own this extremely rare piece of bubblegum history!
