Trance is a genre of electronic music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. The term "trance" is a state of hypnotism and heightened consciousness, and this is portrayed in trance music by the mixing of layers with distinctly foreshadowed build-up and release.
Trance music has several sub-genres, and hence our classification on Bubblegum Dancer is a very broad sense of the term.
Me & My’s later albums experimented with Trance music, particularly “Fly High.”
Production & style
Trance music is characterized by a tempo lying between 135–150 bpm (BPM), repeating melodic phrases and a musical form that distinctly builds tension and elements throughout a track often culminating in 1 to 2 "peaks" or "drops". Although it’s a genre of its own, like most dance music it gathers influence from other genres, such as house, pop, and film music.
